LAWRENCE — Former Jayhawks men’s golf athlete Gary Woodland will be inducted into the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame, KU announced earlier this month.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 19 in Lawrence. It will honor an individual in Woodland who’s both enjoyed professional success, as a 2019 U.S. Open champion, and collegiate success. He is also a Topeka native.
“Gary represents everything we want our student-athletes to be,” Travis Goff, KU’s athletic director and vice chancellor, said in a release. “He is an amazing person who has tremendous pride in being a Jayhawk. He excelled during his time in Lawrence, rewriting the record books throughout his career.
