Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead near New Castle on Sept. 8

Police did not provide the gender or age of the pedestrian, saying the person's identity is unknown.

The pedestrian was northbound in the southbound lanes of South Dupont Highway, just south of Pulaski Highway, about 8 p.m.
