AURORA (KDVR) -- Aurora Public Schools plans to break ground on its new 'health high school' in early 2026, as excitement continues to grow.
Kristin Wiedmaier, who has been tabbed as the school's principal, said the future magnet school aims to open doors to certain medical and health career opportunities for students as soon as they graduate.
"There are a lot of options for the students depending on where their interest is," Wiedmaier said.
Wiedmaier said the goal is for students to have certifications in their chosen field by the time they graduate or for students to be able to work in their field while continuing their education. Educators estimate the school will have about 25 students per grade.
The building's site will be near North Middle School. APS is partnering with UC Health
