Authorities seized more than 769 pounds of suspected cocaine last month on the Canadian side of the Blue Water Bridge.

The suspected drugs were seized on Aug. 13 and Aug. 14 and have an estimated street value of about $44 million, according to the Canada Border Services Agency.

"The Canada Border Services Agency is protecting our borders and ensuring the safety of our communities," Michael Prosia, Regional Director General for the Canada Border Services Agency's Southern Ontario Region, said in a statement. "So far this year, border services officers at land ports of entry in Southern Ontario have seized more than 1.52 tonnes of cocaine coming from the United States."
