MORTON, Ill. – The 59th Morton Pumpkin Festival officially kicks off Wednesday.

But, Tuesday afternoon, everyone is invited to come see how big pumpkins can actually get…with the pumpkin weigh-in.

“Some of our other main events are the Pumpkin Princess Pageant, which is going on Wednesday, and then we’ll end the festival with things like the Pumpkin Pie-Eating Competition, as well as the Pumpkin Classic Race, and of course the Pumpkin Parade,” says Morton Pumpkin Festival Marketing and Communications Manager Bridget Wood.

They’re already setting up chairs for the parade, even though it doesn’t happen until Saturday.

But, Wood says Morton residents are used to that.
