The Denver Broncos announced Tuesday morning that they expect to build their next stadium at Burnham Yard, a dilapidated former railyard in the Lincoln Park neighborhood that is owned by the state.
“Burnham Yard now represents a transformational opportunity to reimagine the future with deep respect for the rich history of the area,” the Walton-Penner ownership group said in a statement.
The announcement comes three months after BusinessDen broke the news that the team had bought $150 million in real estate near Burnham Yard. BusinessDen also first reported in June that the Broncos were eyeing Denver Water’s land to the west of Burnham Yard.
