A Mexican citizen who had been previously deported was sentenced Monday to 15 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, Montana’s U.S. Attorney’s Office has announced.
Rigonaldo Diaz-Chixna, 30, pleaded guilty in May of “illegal reentry” and, according to a press release, was arrested in Bozeman in December 2024 for obstructing a peace officer and having two outstanding warrants.
“Law enforcement officers conducted fingerprint analysis which confirmed Diaz-Chixna’s most recent removal from the United States was on or about July 19, 2022,” the press release said. “This removal occurred after his felony conviction for illegal reentry on June 3, 2022, from Montana.”
