MASON CITY, Iowa – The search for a missing woman in North Iowa has ended tragically.

Kaylin "KK" Ingersoll, 34 of Mason City, was last seen at Heritage Nursing Home and on Fourth Street on the morning of September 5.

The Mason City Police Department (MCPD) says it was notified around 7:12 am Tuesday of an unresponsive female who was found in a storage unit. Officers and emergency personnel went to the scene and identified the dead woman as Ingersoll.

MCPD says a death investigation is underway but there is no current suspicion of foul play.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Mason City Fire Department.

MCPD says no funeral arrangements are pending for Ingersoll, but her family would like to thank the public for their support and their efforts to find her.
