Boston Police are reporting an outbreak of phone thefts at closing times at bars and clubs across the city - and have posted photos of a pair of possible suspects and their red car with Arkansas plates.

Police say they're investigating thefts downtown and in the Back Bay, Fenway, Theater District and Seaport, mainly between 11:30 p.m. and 2 a.m. - and say that what started out as requests to make a call or take a photo have of late begun getting violent:
