TOMPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WBKO) — A man was arrested Tuesday for his alleged involvement in an early-morning Monroe County shooting.
According to court records, Caleb D. McClellan, 20, was booked just after 5 a.m. and charged with attempted murder.
He allegedly fired shots from a 9mm pistol just after midnight at a vehicle carrying four people, striking it once. No injuries were reported.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said McClellan was in the front passenger seat of the car when he fired the shots.
Authorities later stopped the vehicle for an unrelated traffic violation and found McClellan in the back seat, along with a 9mm pistol. Officers were initially unaware the vehicle had been involved in the earlier incident, according to a warrant narrative.
