Hold onto your hats, horror fans, because you're not going to like this one. After being beaten to death, the Amityville Horror franchise is returning thanks to Amazon MGM Studios, which has just nailed down a director for a new reimagining of the infamous horror classic. The original film was a runaway blockbuster back in 1979, as folks were eager to see the purported true story of what happened to the Lutz family after they moved into 112 Ocean Avenue. While it took obvious liberties with author Jay Anson's book, the film was a smash hit, raking in more than $86 million at the box office to become the second highest-grossing movie of the year.
