The Salt 14-2 wildfire, which ignited last week near Jacalitos Creek Road in Coalinga, has burned 25,580 acres across Fresno and Monterey counties and is 40% contained, CalFire reported Tuesday.
Fire officials said a cooling trend and higher humidity are expected to aid firefighters, who have established control lines around much of the fire perimeter and continue to mop up interior hot spots.
One structure has been threatened, but officials haven’t reported any destroyed or damaged buildings.
