(NewsNation) — Cracker Barrel is pumping the brakes on its restaurant remodeling plans following backlash from customers.

"The vintage Americana you love will always be here — the rocking chairs on the porch, our fireplaces and peg games, unique treasures in our gift shop and antiques pulled straight from our warehouse in Lebanon, Tennessee," the company said in a news release. "We want you to have a warm, welcoming space for friends and family to gather and enjoy our craveable food and country hospitality."

Cracker Barrel said it had tested the redesign in only four of its 660 locations throughout the country. The company added that it will continue to invest in its restaurants to make sure they are in good shape and meet expectations.
