On Tuesday, McDonogh 35 Senior High School's Sylvia Crier was presented with a proclamation in New York City on "Jenna and Friends." City leaders declared it as Sylvia Crier Day. Crier has spent 61 years teaching generations of students in New Orleans. She has taught more than 2,000 kids in that span. The "Today Show" also highlighted her teaching over the decades and the fact that she is a breast cancer survivor. The "Today Show" also announced it is surprising her and the school with $10
