Getting a permit is not a sure thing. They will be issued through a random drawing, and FWC has not disclosed the number of permits that will be issued. If selected, the cost to hunt bears is $100 for residents and $300 for non-residents, plus handling fees.
The hunt will take place in four designated what is described as "Bear Harvest Zones." The hunting season is scheduled to start December 6 and go through most the Christmas season, to Dec. 28.
