Waterford Township trustees voted Monday night to keep Priority Waste as its trash hauler − a move that countered the wishes of the township supervisor and a committee that reviewed the process, but was backed with public support.

The Single Designated Residential Waste Hauler RFP Review Committee recommended national trash hauler Waste Management to replace Priority Waste, which is under contract with the city through the end of March 2026. In an Aug. 20 memo, the review committee said that while Priority misses fewer pickups than they initially did when they assumed service in 2024, customers have still experienced long wait times or cannot reach the company’s call center for support.
