A deadline to submit Valley residents for awards from the city of Phoenix has been extended. After an original deadline of Aug. 31, nominators now have until 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12 to submit the name of someone they believe has made an impact on the community.

The awards celebration, which will be on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the Arizona Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Awards Breakfast, aims to recognize the accomplishments of Phoenix area residents, including youth, who contributed significantly to creating a compassionate and socially just community.
