MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio — A missing 83-year-old woman was safely located in Friday evening after emergency crews located her using drone technology.

According to a press release from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, the woman had been fishing with her husband on their property along Jeffrey Road when she began walking back to their residence around 3:30 p.m. When her husband returned home and couldn’t find her, he contacted police.

“He was very concerned, and almost at a loss of what to do," said Sgt. David McGurk, with the Medina County Sheriff's office. He was the one who operated the drone.

Deputies responded to the scene at around 5:35 p.m. and began searching the home, nearby buildings, fields and wooded areas. A drone unit from the sheriff’s office was also deployed to assist with
