MEDINA COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) - The Medina County Sheriff’s Office used a drone to quickly rescue a missing elderly woman last week.

According to a release from the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, an 83-year-old woman was fishing with her husband when she began to walk back to her home. When her husband got home, she was not there.

Deputies arrived on scene and searched the home, surrounding buildings, and nearby fields and woods, the release said.

The sheriff’s office then dispatched a drone into the air. The drone found a heat signature and found the victim.

The woman was lying in a soybean field a quarter mile from her home.

The sheriff’s office was quickly able to reunite her with her family. She also did not require hospitalization, according to the release.
