BLUE MOUND, Ill. (WAND) - The Village of Blue Mound says the tap water is safe again and nitrate levels are within perimeters.
The village had previously warned residents not to give tap water to infants under six months due to levels of nitrate above drinking water standards.
Blue Mound posted on Facebook Thursday evening that its water sample collected Sept. 3 showed nitrate levels of 12 milligrams per liter. The Village's system was said to exceed the standard for nitrate at 10 mg/L.
As of September 9, the nitrate levels are back within perimeters.
