COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State’s offense stole the show in Week 2 and rightfully so, but now it’s the defense’s turn to step back into the spotlight.

Coordinator Matt Patricia had to have the defense ready from the get-go this year because the Buckeyes opened with against No. 1 Texas. The unit responded, allowing just seven points, which brought out the worst in Longhorns quarterback, Arch Manning .

But that was just a taste of what this defense might be this year, as it relied heavily on its starters, hoping to just get through the game and develop depth later.
