STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football has been fined $500,000 by the SEC for storming the field at Davis Wade Stadium, the conference announced Sept. 8.

The Bulldogs (2-0) stunned then-No. 10 Arizona State 24-20 on Sept. 6 after Brenen Thompson's game-winning 58-yard touchdown catch with 30 seconds remaining.

After an interception by Hunter Washington and a Blake Shapen kneel-down, fans rushed the field and swarmed at midfield. The north end zone goal posts came down in no time.
