NORFOLK, New York (WWNY) - A St. Lawrence County man was killed over the weekend in a head-on crash.

The sheriff’s office said 67-year-old Richard Charter of Norfolk died at the scene.

The crash happened at around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday on State Route 56 between County Route 40 and State Route 310 in the town of Norfolk.

The sheriff’s office said Charter was driving north in the southbound lane.

His vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming minivan.

The driver of the minivan, who was not identified, was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officials said.
