MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The now-suspended head of a Shelby County agency filed to dismiss his lawsuit against Attorney General Pam Bondi and the head of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to have his gun rights restored.
According to court records, a notice to dismiss DeAndre Brown's initial lawsuit was filed Wednesday, Sept. 3. This dismissal notice was made without prejudice, which means the lawsuit may be filed in court at a later date.
This dismissal comes days after Brown, executive director of the Shelby County Office of Re-Entry, and his wife were accused of misappropriating $626,858.63 from Lifeline to Success.
After an investigation into the misappropriated funds conducted by the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury, Brown and Vinessa Brown were detained.
