Forbes has released its 44th annual list of the 400 richest people in America.

Elon Musk remains the wealthiest person with a net worth of $428 billion.

The rich continue to get richer.

For the 44th time, Forbes has ranked the top 400 richest people in America , and eight individuals and families from Michigan made the list with a net worth totaling more than $80.1 billion.

Still on the top of the heap, by far, is Elon Musk with a net worth of $428 billion, the annual report said.

Rocket Mortgage founder Dan Gilbert (No. 37) was the top Michigan billionaire with a net worth of $26.7 billion, Forbes said — surpassing Mat Ishbia's $9.5 billion (No. 130).

President Donald Trump came in at No. 201 with a net worth of $7.3 billion.
