Glasgow east end fire near Forge Retail Park as ‘lots of smoke’ reported

Firefighters are at the scene of a blaze within a building in Glasgow’s east end this evening (Tuesday, September 9).

Fire crews were scrambled to the scene near the Forge Retail Park, Camlachie, and were seen fighting the flames at around 8pm.

Pictures from the scene show smoke rising from an industrial estate off the Gallowgate, close to the junction with Fielden Street.

Police officers are also at the scene. There is no information as yet as to whether anyone is injured.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live: “I was just driving into the Forge Retail Park to do some shopping when I noticed a lot of smoke across the car park.

“I then saw emergency services on the scene and smoke billowing from a warehouse. I hope everyone is ok.”
