The Rhode Island Department of Transportation told Barrington Police that graffiti found on one of the new East Bay Bike Path Bridges will cost more than $50,000 to remove.
According to Barrington Police, a DOT official stopped into the station on Friday, Sept. 5 and filed a report about the vandalism. The DOT official said someone drew the initials “TE” on deck panels, hand rails, and other sections of the bridge, which is not yet open to the public.
Police said there is video footage showing a group of juveniles on the bridge on Thursday, Sept. 4. Police are trying to identify the individuals.
