NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KLTV) - The newest campus map of the Stephen F. Austin State University Master Plan shows no sign of the historic Old Stone Fort, and instead shows the monument being replaced with an expanded science building.
The map, which was posted on the SFA website on Aug. 7, shows over a dozen new buildings being added to campus over the next 15 years as part of their new master plan, but alumni and community members ahead of Tuesday’s open house meeting about the master plan noticed that the historical building was missing.
Instead, the plan is to rebuild the nearby science building and expand into the space the fort currently stands.
