Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) is pressured by Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones (95) during Super Bowl LIX at Ceasars Superdome on Feb. 9, 2025.

The first week of the 2025 NFL season is in the books, and plenty of early storylines emerged ahead of a Week 2 schedule full of intriguing matchups. Some teams will soon be 2-0 and thinking about the potential for a magical year. Other teams will soon be 0-2 and wondering if their playoff hopes are already in jeopardy.

The stakes are always high during the condensed NFL regular season, and it all starts up again with a Thursday Night Football game between two NFC contenders when Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders visit Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers. The Week 2 docket also includes a Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs during Sunday's late afternoon window and several divisional games on tap. The first Monday night doubleheader of the season concludes this week's action.

Here is an early look at picks and predictions for all of the Week 2 games on the 2025 NFL schedule:

NFL Week 2 game predictions, picks

Odds courtesy of BetMGM as of Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 12 p.m. ET.

Washington Commanders vs. Green Bay Packers

  • Date: Thursday, Sept. 11
  • Time: 8:15 p.m. ET
  • Location: Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wisconsin)
  • TV: None
  • Streaming: Amazon Prime, NFL+
  • Spread: Packers (-3.5)

CBS Sports: Packers 30, Commanders 27

"This Packers defense held the Lions to under 50 rushing yards and if they can stifle the Commanders, they should be able to win. Washington hasn't won a road game against the Packers since 1988 and that didn't even come at Lambeau, it came in Milwaukee."

Sporting News: Packers 24, Commanders 23

"Micah Parsons has 10.5 sacks in eight career games against Washington. The Commanders are 4-4 S/U as a road underdog with Jayden Daniels, but Green Bay finds a way to make it two in a row at Lambeau Field."

ESPN: Packers cover

"Commanders rookie right tackle Josh Conerly Jr. struggled and now stares down the barrel of Micah Parsons, who looked healthy in limited action Week 1. Jordan Love and the Packers' offense, meanwhile, looked sensational in the first half before coasting through the second half. On a quick turnaround, the Packers stay at home and could get starting cornerback Nate Hobbs back for this game. Either way, Green Bay looks like a threshing machine early."

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: M&T Bank Stadium (Baltimore)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Ravens (-10.5)

Arizona Republic: Ravens 38, Browns 20

"The Ravens were outscored in the fourth quarter of their 41-40 loss to the Buffalo Bills, 22-6. Lamar Jackson and Baltimore will take out some frustrations against the Browns at home."

CBS Sports: Ravens 30, Browns 23

"It feels like a trap game for the Ravens. They opened with the Bills, and after playing the Browns this week, they'll play the Lions in Week 3 and the Chiefs in Week 4. If you were going to overlook one team during that stretch ..."

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: Paycor Stadium (Cincinnati)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Bengals (-3.5)

ESPN: Bengals cover

"Burrow totaled just 113 yards passing, while Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins combined for 59 yards on five receptions. But ... take the Week 2 matchup versus the Jacksonville defense, especially on the perimeter in the pass game. Burrow and the Bengals will have answers to target both split-safety and single-high-zone schemes Sunday. Bet Cincy here."

Sporting News: Bengals 29, Jaguars 22

"Will Cincinnati be able to open it up more against Jacksonville in the home opener? The Bengals also will have to contain Travis Etienne, who had 143 rushing yards against the Panthers. Jacksonville was 5-3 against the spread as a road underdog despite a 1-7 straight up record last season. It's a tricky line."

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1p.m. ET
  • Location: AT&T Stadium (Arlington, Texas)
  • TV: FOX
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Cowboys (-6)

Pro Football Focus: Giants cover

"The Cowboys put on an impressive offensive performance on Thursday Night Football, despite their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. They now get the benefit of a few extra days of rest. But 5.5 points is quite a steep number for a defense that could do nothing to stop the Eagles' offense in the first half and projects to be one of the worst units in the NFL. With more time to throw, Russell Wilson and the Giants' offense should have a bit of an easier time getting going."

Sports Illustrated: Cowboys cover

"Bet against the New York Giants as long as they start Russell Wilson at quarterback ... He looked old and uncomfortable behind the Giants' offensive line, and now he has to take on a Cowboys team that looked much better than expected against the defending champions."

Chicago Bears vs. Detroit Lions

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: Ford Field (Detroit)
  • TV: FOX
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Lions (-5.5)

Arizona Republic: Lions 31, Bears 23

"The Lions did not look like the Lions of last season in their Week 1 loss to the Green Bay Packers, including only rushing for 46 yards. They will look more like Detroit in Detroit."

Sporting News: Lions 31, Bears 22

"Chicago coach Ben Johnson – the Lions' offensive coordinator from 2022-24 – makes a quick return to Ford Field. The Lions need to turn up the pressure here on Caleb Williams, and they will at home. Look for Jahymr Gibbs and David Montgomery to bounce back, too."

New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Gardens, Florida)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Dolphins (-1.5)

Sports Illustrated: Take the Dolphins

"(The Dolphins) Week 1 performance was disastrous, but ... their offense is still loaded with talent, and they led all teams in Week 1 in rush expected points added. ... Mike Vrabel isn't going to be an automatic fix for (the Patriots)."

Arizona Republic: Patriots 23, Dolphins 20

"Both of these teams looked bad in Week 1, but the Dolphins looked horrendous against the Indianapolis Colts. We expect Miami to get more than 211 yards of total offense in this game, but it will be another loss for Tua Tagovailoa and company."

San Francisco 49ers vs. New Orleans Saints

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1p.m. ET
  • Location: Caesars Superdome (New Orleans)
  • TV: FOX
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: 49ers (-4.5)

Sporting News: 49ers 31, Saints 24

"San Francisco QB Brock Purdy, tight end George Kittle and receiver Jauan Jennings are all dealing with injuries, but Christian McCaffrey had 22 carries for 69 yards in his return. Spencer Rattler did not have a turnover and took just one sack in Week 1, but the Saints are 2-6 straight up and 3-5 against the spread as a home underdog in their last eight games."

Arizona Republic: 49ers 27, Saints 20

"The 49ers' receiving corps is decimated, but San Francisco still has Christian McCaffrey. That will be enough to beat the Saints in New Orleans."

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, New Jersey)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Bills (-6.5)

NorthJersey.com: Bills 27, Jets 23

"The Jets will keep this closer than the spread indicates. Gang Green has won two of the last three meetings when hosting the Bills and has given them major fits at MetLife in recent years. It won't be as high scoring as either team played in Week 1, but Bills QB Josh Allen does enough on offense to lead Buffalo to a 2-0 start, while the Jets are still in search of their first win in the Aaron Glenn era."

Arizona Republic: Bills 36, Jets 21

"The Bills rallied for a huge win over the Baltimore Ravens in NFL Week 1. They won't need to rally in this one, with Josh Allen and company seizing control early against the Jets."

Seattle Seahawks vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: Acrisure Stadium (Pittsburgh)
  • TV: FOX
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Steelers (-3)

BetMGM: Take the Seahawks

"Make no mistake about it: the Steelers finished as the inferior team (in Week 1 vs. the Jets). A glaring special teams edge proved the difference for Pittsburgh. They scored a touchdown following a fumble recovery from a kickoff and saw Chris Boswell nail a 60-yard field goal. ... As for Seattle, it’s tough to gauge if Week 1 is representative of this team in 2025. The defense struggled – 23rd of 30th in success rate – but ... at a 52% rushing success rate, only the Commanders, Dolphins and Cowboys outpaced Seattle, per rbsdm.com."

Sports Illustrated: Steelers cover

"Aaron Rodgers was one of the most effective quarterbacks in Week 1. ... Sam Darnold looked a lot closer to the Sam Darnold of old on Sunday, and the Seahawks couldn't get much going on the ground. This team is worse than the public opinion of them at the moment."

Los Angeles Rams vs. Tennessee Titans

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 1 p.m. ET
  • Location: Nissan Stadium (Nashville, Tenn.)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Rams (-5.5)

Sporting News: Rams 28, Titans 16

"Cam Ward was sacked six times in the opener, and the Rams will keep the pressure on. Rams receiver Puka Nacua had 10 catches on 11 targets for 130 yards. That connection with Matthew Stafford will continue on the road – where Los Angeles will keep pace in the NFC West."

Arizona Republic: Rams 23, Titans 16

"The Rams' defense will make life miserable for rookie QB Cam Ward and the Titans in Week 2 and Matthew Stafford will do just enough on offense to get an ugly win for Los Angeles."

Carolina Panthers vs. Arizona Cardinals

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
  • Location: State Farm Stadium (Glendale, Arizona)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Cardinals (-6.5)

Arizona Republic: Cardinals 28, Panthers 17

"The Cardinals escaped New Orleans with a win over the Saints in Week 1 and get to face a Carolina Panthers team that did not look good against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Arizona's defense will shine against Bryce Young."

Sports Illustrated: Panthers beat the spread

The Panthers aren't as good as people thought they'd be heading into this season, but ... they're (not) as bad as they looked in Week 1. The Cardinals aren't nearly good enough to be deserving of being 6.5-point favorites in this game. ... Bryce Young will have to look better in this game, but he and the Panthers' offense can do enough to keep this game close.

Denver Broncos vs. Indianapolis Colts

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 4:05 p.m. ET
  • Location: Lucas Oil Stadium (Indianapolis)
  • TV: CBS
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Broncos (-2.5)

BetMGM: Broncos beat the spread

"Daniel Jones lacks market viability as a short market (underdog). The Duke product began his NFL career 8-4 against the spread at +3.5 or shorter. In his last six starts within that range: 0-6 against the spread with five losses by 20 or more points. Meanwhile, Bo Nix owns an 8-1 against the spread record as a market favorite."

CBS Sports: Colts 19, Broncos 16

"In (Daniel Jones') first game with in Indianapolis, the Colts had the ball seven times and they scored on all seven possessions making Jones the first quarterback since at least 1978 to pull that off."

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Kansas City Chiefs

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 4:25 p.m. ET
  • Location: Arrowhead Stadium (Kansas City, Missouri)
  • TV: FOX
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Eagles (-1)

CBS Sports: Eagles 23, Chiefs 20

"The last time we saw these two teams on the same field came back in Super Bowl LIX when the Eagles absolutely destroyed the Chiefs, 40-22. The Chiefs' offense couldn't move the ball in that game and ... don't see things getting any easier this week."

Sporting News: Chiefs 30, Eagles 27

It's on the Chiefs to respond here against Philadelphia at home. ... Philadelphia is a slight favorite with the combination of Hurts and Barkley. Hurts had a league-best 82.6% completion percentage and rushed for 62 yards and two TDs (in Week 1). Still, this feels like one of those Mahomes moments. Monitor key injuries to Eagles center Landon Dickerson (back) and Chiefs receiver Xavier Worthy (shoulder)."

Atlanta Falcons vs. Minnesota Vikings

  • Date: Sunday, Sept. 14
  • Time: 8:20 p.m.
  • Location: U.S. Bank Stadium (Minneapolis)
  • TV: NBC
  • Streaming: Peacock, Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Vikings (-4.5)

Watch Sunday Night Football with Peacock

Arizona Republic: Vikings 24, Falcons 23

"J.J. McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr. faced off for Michigan and Washington in the 2024 College Football Playoff National Championship. This game doesn't have quite the same stakes, but it will have the same result. McCarthy's team wins, but just barely."

Sports Illustrated: Falcons score an upset

"Atlanta fell short to the Buccaneers, but Michael Penix Jr. looked every bit of a great NFL quarterback, and their defense looked much improved under Jeff Ulbrich. Making J.J. McCarthy this big of a favorite in his second-ever NFL start seems like a stretch. Atlanta has the weapons to not only cover the spread against Minnesota but also win this game outright."

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Houston Texans

  • Date: Monday, Sept. 15
  • Time: 7 p.m. ET
  • Location: NRG Stadium (Houston)
  • TV: ABC, ESPN
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Texans (-2.5)

Arizona Republic: Buccaneers 27, Texans 24

"The Texans missed Joe Mixon in their NFL Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and they face another strong run defense in Week 2 in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers will get the upset on the road."

CBS Sports: Bet the Texans

"The Texans didn't do much on offense and there are major concerns with the offensive line and run game. Don't expect much of an improvement in that arena on Monday, but against the Buccaneers at home in prime time ... C.J. Stroud and Nico Collins can get rolling in a big way, get out to a lead and force Baker Mayfield to throw the ball a bunch."

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Las Vegas Raiders

  • Date: Monday, Sept. 15
  • Time: 10 p.m. ET
  • Location: Allegiant Stadium (Las Vegas)
  • TV: ESPN
  • Streaming: Fubo, NFL+
  • Spread: Chargers (-3.5)

Sporting News: Chargers 24, Raiders 17

"The Jim Harbaugh-Pete Carroll dynamic is back with two AFC West rivals. Raiders tight end Brock Bowers (knee) is an injury worth watching, but this should be the same-as-usual heated matchup. Justin Herbert is 2-2 straight up in four career road starts against the Raiders. Get ready for a tight one-score game."

Sports Illustrated: Raiders cover

"Geno Smith continues to be the model of consistency. His ceiling may not be high, but his floor sure is. He may not help the Raiders win enough games to make the playoffs, but he can cover a ton of spreads as an underdog. They have some talent on offense, along with an underrated defense. Don't be surprised if the Raiders hang around in this game on Monday night."
