It’s quite an achievement for any high school football player to be a four-year starter and in Mason Hickman’s case the feat holds extra significance.

You see, there haven’t been a ton of dudes who have held down a starting spot for the tradition-rich Gate City Blue Devils as a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior, but this guy has proudly done so.

“Being able to start for the last four years has really been a privilege,” Hickman said. “This program has always meant something to me, especially since I was growing up and going to watch the games on Fridays.”
