As Eastside High School football coach Mike Rhodes poured over video footage of this week’s opponent – Rural Retreat – he noticed that the dynamic quarterback wearing No. 2 for the Indians was a gritty son of a gun.

“Just a hard-nosed kid,” Rhodes said. “Plays like he is 225 pounds and is capable of scoring anytime he touches the ball. He could play for anybody in the region.”

The dude's name is Chaz Penwright and nobody should ever doubt the toughness or tenacity of this 5-foot-8, 144-pound senior.

He’s tough enough to dole out hits as a safety as well as putting his shoulder down after a scramble to run over a defender in search of a few more valuable yards.
