As we approach the 24th anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks, NYC plans to come together to show support for one another and those we lost on that tragic day in 2001.
From Tribute in Light to the annual ceremony at the 9/11 Memorial Museum , there are meaningful ways to honor our city, our neighbors, and show our strength and resilience. Here are a few ways you can participate.
Tribute in Light
From dusk on September 11th until dawn the next morning, 88 xenon lightbulbs are positioned into two 48-foot squares that extend four miles into the sky, a nod to the Twin Towers’ structure and location.
Those up to 60 miles away are able to see the iconic memorial, but some of the best places to take in the emotional display include Brooklyn Bridge Park and Battery Park.
