Former Silver Slugger expected to leave the Mets in free agency

Ahead of the trade deadline, the New York Mets made a deal with the Baltimore Orioles to acquire outfielder Cedric Mullins. In exchange for Mullins, New York sent Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez, and Chandler Marsh over to Baltimore.

It was a great trade for the Mets as they did not have to part ways with any of their top prospects. Adding Mullins also gave them a boost in the outfield, allowing them to stop platooning Jeff McNeil and Tyrone Taylor in center field.

However, his future in New York is cloudy. He is currently working on a one-year, $8.75 million deal this season, and will be a free agent when the season comes to an end.
