LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Louisville man has been charged with assault after allegedly assaulting a Kentucky State Trooper.
Kentucky State Police said the incident happened Monday as a trooper patrolled the I-24 Cumberland River Bridge in Livingston County.
According to KSP, the trooper noticed 28-year-old Ravon Briggs of Louisville walking on the bridge. He stopped to do a safety check on Briggs and let him know that pedestrians aren’t permitted to walk along limited access highways.
The trooper was concerned for Briggs’ safety and asked him to stop walking and identify himself.
Briggs allegedly refused and did not comply with verbal commands. The trooper tried to take Briggs into custody and that’s when KSP said Briggs assaulted him while still on the bridge.
