SPRINGFIELD — Immigration officials have deported a Guatemalan man who first caught their attention in May after an ICE officer called 911 when he witnessed the man crash his van in Springfield .

Federal prosecutors charged Noe Ambrocio-Perez with unlawful reentry after they said he came into the country without permission four times, a charge to which he pleaded not guilty. But after Magistrate Judge Katherine Robertson issued a decision that declined to detain Ambrocio-Perez ahead of his trial, immigration officials enforced a warrant of removal filed against him.

On Tuesday, the court canceled a scheduled hearing in his case, noting on the docket that prosecutors said they intend to dismiss the case because Ambrocio-Perez was sent back to Guatemala.
