GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A dog died and two people were hurt after a boat exploded in the east side of the state, authorities say.

It happened Saturday around 12:30 p.m. The boat was at Emerald City Harbor in Detroit suburb St. Clair Shores and had just been fueled, according to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office. It says the boat exploded seconds after pulling away from the dock.

Video posted by the sheriff's office Tuesday shows witnesses running toward the boat with a fire extinguisher and floatation devices. Witnesses and first responders helped the boat occupants, the sheriff's office said.

A dog that was on board was brought to an emergency veterinary hospital. It died from its injuries, the sheriff's office said.

The two people on board both had minor injuries.
