The Chicago Cubs today recalled catcher Moisés Ballesteros from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, outfielder Kyle Tucker was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain (retroactive to September 6).

Finally, the Cubs acknowledge Tucker’s injury. At least they got some retroactive dates, though this could have been done three days ago.

Ballesteros made his major league debut on May 13 and tallied his first career hit and RBI on May 16. He has appeared in six games with the Cubs and hit .222 (4-for-18) with one double and six RBI.

Tucker was removed from the game on September 2 with left calf tightness. He is hitting .270 (132-for-489) with 25 doubles, four triples, 22 home runs, 73 RBI, a .381 OBP and an .854 OPS in 133 games with the Cubs this season.
