AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - If you see more people wearing orange, that’s because Sept. 9 is Hunger Action Day.

Golden Harvest Food Bank, alongside Feeding America and food banks nationwide, are shining a spotlight on the growing hunger crisis.

Together, they’re Finding Solutions in inspiring more people to make a difference.

Sadly, it’s a need that exists. Families in our area are food insecure, and Golden Harvest Food Bank works year-round to fill that gap.

“We have 1 in 6 who are food insecure, including 1 in 4 children. Throughout the month of September and especially Hunger Action Day, we’re just trying to bring more awareness and to educate more people in the community about hunger,” said Priscilla Elliott, public affairs specialist, Golden Harvest Food Bank.
