A man died after a shooting in west Baltimore Tuesday evening, according to police.

Officers said they responded to the 1000 block of North Arlington Avenue around 3 p.m. for a shot-spotter alert.

The incident was initially reported by police as a shooting and barricade incident.

Once on the scene, officers found a 26-year-old man who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
