GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - The Grand Island Police Department is reminding people to keep their wallets and purses near them when out and about.
This reminder comes after an 84-year-old woman reported to police that her wallet had been stolen while she was at the Grand Island Hy-Vee Monday.
Division Chief Dean Elliott said by the time the woman noticed her wallet was gone, the suspects had already purchased about $4,000 in products from the Grand Island Best Buy.
He said they purchased a computer and watches.
Police were able to get a description of the two men involved through surveillance cameras but they have yet to ID the men.
The vehicle they were seen driving away in had a California license plate.
Elliott said police don’t believe the suspects are from the area and no arrests
