CLEVELAND — The Guardians' chase for a playoff spot continues with a matchup against fellow Wild Card contender Kansas City Royals Sept. 9 at Progressive Field .

Slade Cecconi flirted with a no-hitter Sept. 8, and the Guardians offense reached double digits in a near-perfect win. Though, it was just one step in a difficult path the Guardians must take to secure a playoff spot. Projections say Cleveland needs to go 15-5 over their final 20 games .
