LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle in the central Las Vegas valley.

The crash happened around 2 p.m. near Rancho Drive and Melody Lane.

Police said the motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The crash remains under investigation. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
