A former member of Gov. Mike Braun's cabinet who abruptly resigned last week faced complaints ahead of her departure and an inquiry from the governor's office, according to state employees familiar with the matter.

Jennifer-Ruth Green stepped down from her role on Sept. 5 as Braun's secretary of public safety, according to Braun's office after serving for just about eight months. Braun tweeted about the leadership change shortly before 9 p.m. on Sept. 6. The next day Green posted on X that she was leaving for military service.
