LASSEN COUNTY, California (KOLO) - A bust at an illegal marijuana cultivation site resulted in the seizure of more than 13,000 plants.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office says that in July they began an investigation into the operation, located in northern Lassen County. They say none of the grows were licensed in the state or county.

During the week of Sept. 2 to Sept. 5, personnel from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and other state officials conducted search warrants on six separate parcels. They say the operation resulted in the seizure of around 13,496 marijuana plants and 1,929 pounds of marijuana, as well as five guns and thousands of pounds of garbage.

They say that many of the sites were found to be diverting water from nearby streams.
