Oklahoma family says mother was mistakenly cremated despite prepaid funeral plan

An Oklahoma family is faced with an unimaginable heartbreak after a metro mortuary service accidentally cremated their mother’s body, despite her prepaid funeral arrangements.

Carolyn Comer had planned her funeral, including a burial at Resthaven Cemetery in SW Oklahoma City, with the ashes of her two dogs. But that plan was never carried out.

“She had it all planned out,” said her daughter, Sharon. “We had the music, everything was done.”

Carolyn’s children, Ricky Dane and Sharon, say they are still struggling to process what happened.

“My mother did not need this,” Ricky said. “She did not deserve this.”
