Downtown Montclair will be buzzing with excitement on Saturday as the Gotham Kings band, led by trumpeter and two-time Grammy- winner Alphonso Horne , brings the lively tradition of the New Orleans second line parade to town.
This joyful spectacle, where revelers follow the band, dancing and celebrating, will honor the origins of jazz and invite the community to take to the streets in celebration during the annual Montclair Jazz Festival.
The high-energy jamboree, sponsored by the nonprofit community arts organization Jazz House Kids, kicks off the region’s largest free jazz festival from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1 Lackawanna Plaza.
The event promises a full day of music and celebration, featuring headliners, emerging artists and nine-time Grammy winner Christian McBride, who also serves
