BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Terry’s Health Products is doing its part to limit waste in the grocery industry by offering free items to its customers.
Owner Lonna Brooks has been placing a surplus of expired items on a cart at the entrance of Terry’s every week for the past two years. They could be grocery staples and snacks, to fitness supplements and vitamins. Brooks advises people to use their best discretion when grabbing the free items.
“Most people probably realize that the expiration dates are really a guiding point. There’s a lot of them that are labeled ‘best buy.’ And so most things, you’re able to consume even after the expiration date. Just use your best judgment,” said Brooks.
The weekly freebies get taken fast, change weekly and are available every Monday morning.
