DICKINSON, ND (KXNET) — Investigators say James Ryan Sigler shared videos of underage boys in sexual acts. Now, the former Dickinson State University admissions director is pleading guilty in three felony cases and is locked up awaiting sentencing.

Court records show Sigler changed his plea on Sept. 8 in Stark County. The next day, Judge William Herauf ordered a pre-sentence investigation and had him taken into custody.

Sigler was first arrested in February 2025 while still working at Dickinson State. He was initially charged with three counts of possessing prohibited sexual materials.

In March, prosecutors added seven more Class A felony charges for promoting or directing obscene sexual performances by minors.

Altogether, Sigler faces seven Class A felonies and three Class C felonies.
