CLEVELAND (WJW) – U.S. Marshals are releasing details of a 30-day investigation in Cleveland.
According to a press release, U.S. Marshals with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) recovered critically missing children, with 10 children recovered during the operation.
Investigators said 10 fugitives wanted for sex crimes were arrested.
John Armstrong, 50, was wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office for rape of a juvenile and wanted by East Cleveland police for homicide.
Investigators said Armstrong was tracked to an apartment in Dayton and shot at officers when they arrived.
No officers were injured, according to a press release, and Armstrong was taken into custody.
