SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - A new restaurant opened its doors at Eddy Street Commons on Tuesday.

The new Barrio Tacos is right across the street from Brother’s Bar and Grill.

This South Bend location is the 20th location for the chain and the first one to be in Indiana.

WNDU 16 News Now spoke with one of the owners about why they chose this area as the new spot for their thriving business.

“You can see the football stadium right next to campus. You’ve got the beautiful mixed use of residents, some great bars and restaurants,” said Jake Hawley. “Really trying to create a dining experience here in South Bend to serve both the university and the locals.
